You may feel like you will never break the cycle of addiction or you must bear your burden alone. But against all odds, there is hope. CrossRoads was founded on this “against all odds” mentality, and our team is here to be part of your battle.

  • Nick

Growing up in a dysfunctional family spurred Nick on to using drugs at an early age. He attended over 20 different rehab programs, spent time in prison, and burned every bridge he might have had. His family was afraid of him and his friends abandoned him. In less than a week at CrossRoads, Nick gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized in the Holy Spirit saying, “I finally had hope and could feel God’s love.”

  • Omar

Before arriving at CrossRoads, Omar was in a death metal band that had just been signed to a tour in Germany, he had forsaken Christ and now openly followed Satan, practicing black magic as a warlock. His body was nearly destroyed from his unrelenting use of drugs and alcohol. But God had other plans and after months of doubting, questioning, and resisting, Omar committed his whole heart to the Lord. He said, “I am beyond thankful to the countless people and the resources I’ve gained to be sober and live a new life.”

  • Jason

Jason had been serving the Lord for many years as a worship leader, even traveling across the U.S. to minister to people. But his marriage was in shambles and he was no longer able to control his drinking. “I knew there had to be a better way to live than the way I was living and I needed to be with people who were on the same journey as I was.” Today, Jason is renewing his mind, discarding old belief systems, and relying on God rather than his own power. He said, “Unknowingly, I came here to be disciplined by the Holy Spirit.”

  • Doug

Doug struggled with alcoholism for 20 years before his family helped him seek change. After being hospitalized, he was led to CrossRoads Freedom Center, which became his “divine appointment.” What started as recovery for his life became healing for his soul. Now graduated, Doug helps others on their own journeys to freedom, finding brotherhood and accountability.

  • Edwin

Edwin grew up in a Christian home, but he struggled to understand why God allowed him to experience sexual abuse as a child. This question led him into a battle with drug addiction. When he came to CrossRoads, he began to confront his pain with a renewed faith. Through this journey, Edwin restored his relationship with his family, found sobriety, and secured a new job. Now part of our work program, he helps other men build both professional and life skills as they recover.

  • Eric

“I tried to do it [recovery] by myself…I wasn’t relying on God.”

Eric had struggled with a life of drug abuse. He got to a point where he thought that his drug addiction was going to be what defined his life: he felt there was no way he could come back from what he had done. After several attempts at looking within to find recovery, Eric looked to God. He had seen God’s hand in the lives of others, and with his relationship with his family, wife, daughter, and all he held dear on the line, he took a leap of faith and began his journey with CrossRoads. He slowed down, relinquished control, and let God work a wonder in his life! In January of 2023, Eric graduated and is walking a life of freedom in Christ. He has a job in the autobody industry and is relearning how to be the husband and father he was called to be.

Tracey Strawberry

FEATURED STORY

After years of dysfunction and addiction, Tracy found her identity in Christ. By 30, after two divorces and raising three kids alone, she felt hopeless. “Change started to seem impossible for me,” she said, until a prayer meeting where she surrendered to Jesus, sparking her transformation. Now an author and co-founder of Born Unique Ministry, Tracy and her husband, Darryl, travel to share the gospel and offer hope. In 2023, she entrusted her son to CrossRoads, and today he is experiencing the same freedom in Christ and reconnecting with his family.
